In my opinion (and I joins this site just to at it for this song) it's about a lot of different things or it can be I mean. It can be a musician going on tour or a soldier going to war but my favorite is and this is because it happened to me with my ex girl friend is the long distance scenario where the guy and the girl are so happy together and love eachother so much but the one problem is that they are so far apart he says "if you can wait till I get home" home meaning where the people you love the most being and he asks her to wait for him to get to her so they can be happy for the rest of their lives and she decides to wait but after a while she decides he can't give her what she needs being love that is close and there to hold her so she decides to end it even though she still loves him and he can't believe what he's hearing from her and he'll never be happy again the lalalas are hard to put together with this scenario but after thinking about it they mean he can't go to her until everything is right as in he has the money the time and nothing is in the way and right when he gets his perfect window to see her she ends it and it destroys him that's why the song gets so hard at the end. To those who have had their heart broken in this way me being one of them this song means so much I only wish I could've known of it when it happened so I could've shown her how I felt but to those who haven't had their heart ripped out they'll still like the song a lot and I hope it never happens to you because you may think you can handle it I know I though that but you can't so good luck |
