| Actually he did get clean in Girl With Golden Eyes. He just relapsed and on December 23rd, 1987, he was actually declared dead but the hospital managed to revive him. After he broke out from there, he tried to overdose again, so he wouldn't have to live with his addiction. After his second overdose-attempt, he wrote the chorus for this song in his diary.
