| Well I went through something like this with my friend. I loved him greatly and he was my like my brother. Unfortunately he had better friends than I could be. I was hurt that I wasn't held as highly by him. I listened to this song to convince myself that I was still lucky "even if I'm not your chosen one." I told myself I wasn't allowed to whine because it was an honor just to know him. So I guess the song is about a loved one who doesn't adore you as you adore them but still wants to be your friend. The singer says that they aren't allowed to whine, because it is an honor just to be with that person. | |
