| Tame Impala – Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This song is about losing your mind and over thinking everything. It's also about the healing process, trying hard to feel like you once did and being hopeful and also wanting somebody by you that understands you, but while you're sat there waiting to feel normal again, you suddenly realise how insignificant you are and how naive about life you once were. This song means a lot to me, because I went through everything that I wrote above, and I'm still going through it now, alone. If you know anyone who suffered or suffers from a mental illness, try to help and support them. Peace out. |

| The Smiths – Still Ill Lyrics | 12 years ago |

My interpretation of this song, is one that describes a struggle with mental illness. The lines 'Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body' and 'It just wasn't like the old days anymore' both remind me of my own struggles, of when I found it difficult to rule my own mind and when I use to over-think everything. I use to force myself to relive happy moments in my life hoping they would make me feel happy again, but they just weren't like the old days anymore. I also use to look in the mirror and ask myself if I was 'still ill'. Think positive, peace out. |
