I really love this song, and yeah, it's definitely about using/loving and leaving/taking everything that you want from a lover and leaving them behind - But because I'm an eternal optimist, to me it seems like they're still hanging around, because they still think about them, and they know that they can still make their lover blush - and their seems to be a little sadness and regret to their words, because they 'can't' keep them. THe use of the word 'can't' is probably just because it fits much better than 'won't' or something else, but I still like to think that it's significant. So, hopeful meaning: The singer thinks of their past lover, who they spent some time with, but couldn't be with them any longer, and tries not to regret that fact, and while they know that they've hurt their lover, they take a little consolation in the fact that they can still make them blush. |

Is it just me or is 'I'm making you shake' about sex/physical intimacy? The whole song seems to me to be about a one time thing that, even though it was just once, the singer doesn't want the other to forget |

To me this feels kind of cathartic Like, the singer is finally hearing what the other person is saying, and it's new, or it's not what they thought, or something like that. Or they're seeing the truth about their relationship, and how things have been wrong And though it looks like they are walking away when they say that they're not, I think that perhaps (to me anyway,) they are only walking away from this relationship if it's going to continue as it is. |
