Paramore – Proof Lyrics 12 years ago
When I first heard this song I thought it was about a long distance relationship as it mentions that the person cannot cry in her lovers arms because they are not there and that her heart is bigger than the distance in between them, reassuring herself that everything will be okay.

When she says, "baby if I am half the man I say I am, if I am a woman with no fear just like I claim i am" I believe is saying that she is telling her lover that she is fine and emotionally stable and strong like a man, like her lover, during the distance in between them until they meet again. She's a woman with no fear- for their relationship and she does not hold any doubt that they will fall a part like most long distant relationships do.

I think when the next few lines reference her visiting her lover. And when she does, she notices maybe pictures in his new place with strangers, or perhaps she actually met his new friends. She pushes the pictures and or memories of new faces away and they make much needed over due love.

I think it's a song that reassures a couple that if they love each other they can conquer anything together when separated from a good distance as long as they have trust and communication with one another. Knowing their love for each other and where they stand in their relationship is the proof they have that their relationship will make it through anything.
