if you take the beginning of this song into account, this song is NOT about rape. it's about satan. since ancient times, the "setting" of the sun represents the time in which darkness takes over. the setting of the sun may also represent the death of christ in the historical sense. in this song, the narrator is talking about seeing the presence of satan, perhaps when christ died, or was essentially *fcked*, and how beautiful satan looked WHEN christ died. he could not resist the beauty of satan, nor the "tender kiss" (of judas--this is all biblical at this point). "you had so much to give/you had your time to live" all refers to christ's role in society. "i will bring us through this" and "in the end you will thank me" all refer to christ's current role in society, but the narrator is poking fun at this. |
