Even if I agreed with the way you've applied revelations to world affairs my mind would still reel at the tremendous leaps of logic you had to make in order to come up with the hypothesis that Lourde had the fulfillment of biblical prophecy in mind when she wrote this song. You bring to mind the hysterical, ultra-conservative evangalists of my era who tried to convince our parents that all rock musicians were blatant satan worshippers (ie. Hotel California was code for the church of Satan). You can twist anything around to mean what you want it to, but when you have to take too many steps to get from point a to point b chances are you're overthinking. The simplest explanation is right more often than not. |
