Arctic Monkeys – Love Is a Laserquest Lyrics 12 years ago
This song reminds me of 500 days of summer. She doesnt take love seriously, this could be because she thinks its all to overrated and doesnt need to be felt yet or this could be her trying to stop herself from getting hurt. While she was trying to just have fun he was getting hurt because he really liked her and she was unforgettable. So he thinks about her all the time, and he cant stop, and he cant get her to come back because she didnt take it seriously meaning she doesnt have much to come back to. At the same time of all this, its sounds like its been a while since they have seen eachother. He's curious if them finishing whatever they had has made her realize she cant play with emotions to stop hers from coming through. Or if shes just carried on. And he cant move on.

Arctic Monkeys – Dancing Shoes Lyrics 12 years ago
i think this song is quite easily understood.
Basically about when people go to clubs and wait around for people to come to them instead of them going over despite the only reason they went out is to go get girls (im surmising this is about a lad)
"some might exchange a glance, but keep pretending to dance"
This line made it all the more clear and truthful and all you see is people looking around for people to hook up with but trying not to make it noticeable and are trying to make any eye contact to lure someone over in a non-obvious way.

Alex Turner – It's Hard To Get Around The Wind Lyrics 12 years ago
Personally, i think this is about a person who keeps attempting suicide, but keeps stopping half way through in hope that someone will realize without it being obvious to themselves or others around them.

'Its like you're trying to get to heaven in a hurry but the queue was shorter than you thought it would be'
i take this as they are trying to end their lives and they never realized that if they wanted to it would be so easy, and that no one is going to stop them due to them not telling anyone, and they only realized this when it came to doing it. And its all came a bit overwhelming. In a non-obvious way.

'Did you get out and walk, to ensure you miss the quicksand?'
They deliberately stopped before it was to late. She stopped the journey of suicide with intention.

And this links with 'but as long as you still keep peppering the pill, you'll find a way to spit it out again'
Meaning the walking is like the peppering, this is the barrier that stops them. The quicksand is the swallowing.
They walked to miss the quicksand.
They peppered to spit it out.
They stopped to avoid death.

'And even when you know the way its going to blow, its hard to get around the wind.'
The wind is themselves and their mind and the fear. They know whats going to happen if they go through with it, but they keep stopping themselves, and its hard to get past the fear.

'it always sounds like their fighting'
i personally think this is a two-sided mind. One saying, do it. One saying, don't, there's still hope'
'not quite sure who is who'
They dont know if its their negative mind telling them to do it, or if its their negative mind saying dont, theres still worse that could happen. Or is its their positive saying to stop, there is hope. Or to do it, they'll be happier if they aren't here.

'it might not hurt now, but its going to hurt soon'
It might not hurt taking all the pills, but the decision once made will, giving it be the wrong decision.

This song is a very powerful song. This song is a story. Despite having the same sort of edge to it, this is the story of whoever is listening to it. To every person, is a different concept. And every concept, has a story behind it.
