| Before I knew this song was about John Lennon's son, I interpreted 'Jude' as being female, as 'Jude' is a unisex name. For me this song is about a woman who is coming to terms with her sexuality. The narrator of the song is the person who is telling Jude that to be truly happy she has to accept herself for who she is and not be afraid of what others think. There is a woman who Jude has fallen for and she doesn't know what she should do about her feelings, however, the narrator suggests that she goes out and gets her! After all, all you need is love. | |
