I love this song and it's message, but I have to say that my favorite thing about it is the way Jon Foreman tells it. I love that's it's not a straight-up, preaching-to-you song. It's told like a story. I find that it makes it much easier to connect with and more fun to listen to. The line: "a heart that's made of gold can't really beat at all." really spoke to me though. To me, it's saying that, like in 4:12, we're are more than material. Stuff isn't everything, and if your whole life is revolving around stuff, then your life is empty. |
