I know how you feel. I was engaged to the love of my life.. We broke up 2 years ago and to this day, when I see pictures of him or the few times a year we message each other on facebook i fall in love with him over again.. I am madly in love with him still and miss him but i gave up on any hope wed get back together with the lack of talking we do and he moved on but i havent yet. |

My interpenetration of this song is simple.. I feel that this guy is chasing this girl for maybe years, maybe not that long and the guy is in love with the girl. The guy holds hope and dreams of being with that girl, but as they grow close they grow apart at the same time. Hes still chasing her for the love that he has, but eventually he gets to the point of realizing that its useless, but yet he keeps trying. All he wants is for the girl to admit that she loves him, or needs him in her life as a best friend/husband/ lover/ father/ her everything like she is to him. He wants her to admit it because he knows its true, but girl doesnt believe it or realize it just yet. By the end of the song i feel that the guy has lost all hope, and all he can do is wait for her or just move on.. Though how much longer could he hold on?

I feel this song is about not being able to help who you love. When i first heard this song, i thought of the guy who is my best friend but were both afraid to cross the line of friendship/relationship. Though we both know that we love each other. Hes more accepting it than I, however 3 years ago youd never think that we would end up where we are today. 3 years ago I was head over heals in love with my ex fiance, and never realized that over time id fall for my best friend. |
