| The Who – Won't Get Fooled Again Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| The song is about a revolution; the steps leading up to it, the direct signs, the beginning, and after. The song starts with predictions: "We'll be fighting in the streets." Then moves on to the actual Revolting "The change, it had to come." The singer attempts to survive the fighting "I'll move myself and my family aside." The fighting has gone on, and most people are gone, or perhaps even dead "There's nothing in the streets." However, they throw out the rulers with the 'Yeah!" symbolizing their victory. Finally they realize the new leader is nothing new, and have most likely gone back to the old way (Before the revolution) harsh, but the correct way ("Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!.") The chorus is the singer emphasizing on how he moves on with life, not letting the change effect him too much ("Smile and grin at the change all around, pick up my guitar and play, just like yesterday, then I'll get on my knees and pray.") [This next part is fact, btw]The song, as well as most of the album "Who's Next" was suppose to be on the unreleased album "Lighthouse" the song would be the climax of the album/story, where the listeners at the Rock Concert (rock was abandoned by the rulers in the story due to its ability to strike rebellion) would strike up in roar at the song. | |
