Tom Petty – Leave Virginia Alone Lyrics 5 years ago
We see ourselves as others see us
And then become just what we see.
It's magic of a sort, I guess.
It holds us down or sets us free...

And, "Zimmy, don't I know your name," shows that this is a personal. biographical song. Surely, any real fan knows Bob Dylan's real name is Robert Zimmerman.

Bob Dylan – Tangled Up in Blue Lyrics 11 years ago
Oh, my goodness, where are these wild interpretations of the line, "I must admit I felt a little uneasy, when she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe," coming from? All this sexual innuendo destroys the power of the most important line of the song. She let him go once before. She was everything in his eyes. Now she's stripping! This line means that she is humbling herself before him. She's crying out for what was lost...for what she was...for what they were together. She's saying she's no longer worthy of him, unless he decides to lift her up. The last line of the verse is his answer. He's still - "Tangled up in Blue."
