This is about repressed anger. Concealing your fears with lies, rather than facing them: "Do you ever see outside your fears? Thinking about your life. Thinking about your inner fears." It's a warning to escape them. They will slowly corrode you and destroy you, being released via other outlets: acting out sexually, depression, isolation. Showing your anger is a double-edged sword. You can go idiot destructive: kicking and screaming, or hold it in, repressing your feelings ("Lies") to eventually blow-up. There has to be a healthy alternative. For Jonathan Davis it's clearly his music and lyrics. I haven't figured out mine (that's why I'm listening to this song over and over right now fighting off a self-destructive itch). What's yours? |
