I hate to piddle on your theory, but this is an example of the negative result of a virtuous aspect of art: it can be interpreted. The song was, according to Amy Lee, now Amy Lee Hartzler, inspired by her now husband, John Hartzler, a therapist by trade. Regardless of her religious affiliation, which I not aware of, this song has nothing to do with god. I don't know all details, but I feel it safe to say the salvation spoken of in these lyrics ain't dedicated to any deity. |
