I believe that is is about drug addiction. Missy has said that when she was in high-school she used cocaine and ecstasy to help her escape from her depression and stress. Katie is simply another name she's given herself in order to make this story easier to tell. It speaks of the denial she went through, that she used the drugs to 'drown herself' or to drown out the depression and stress. She's asking herself when she will stop, practically asking herself if she thinks she's strong enough to 'draw the line'. The two verses are saying that at first she thought she was fine, that she was okay, until realising that all along she'd been kidding herself, lying to herself. 'Turn a blind eye to all the faces that you know' meaning she pushed away her loved ones, she pushed away the people who were trying to help. |
