A Perfect Circle – 3 Libras Lyrics 12 years ago
I feel like this song is definitely about either a break up or a girl that has been made aware of the feelings he has for her but doesn't care. Especially because of these lines:
"But I threw you the obvious, just to see if there's more behind the
Eyes of a fallen angel, eyes of a tragedy. Here I am expecting just a little bit too much from the wounded. But I see, see through it all, see through, see you."
Basically meaning that he said exactly what he thought about her, about his feelings (the obvious) and was hoping to see that she had feelings for him as well or felt the same way (more behind the eyes of a fallen angel, eyes of a tragedy). But at the same time, he knows that what he is telling her and wants in return may be too much to ask for, and cannot exist because of past pain done either by him or someone else (Here I am expecting just a little bit too much from the wounded) and that even though she has this pain and it has formed issues, he sees through it all and sees the person standing on the other side and doesn't care about any of that (But I see, see through it all, see through, see you).
This song means a lot to me and I played it a lot after my first love and I broke up. I ended up hurting her and pushing her away and when she finally told me about it, it was too late. I apologized a ton over the course of several days, tried everything I could to mend things and told her that I didn't mind any of the problems that I may have caused or were present now, that they could be fixed and I would do all I could to fix things but to no avail, we remained broken up. This song and Sleeping Beauty really hit me and fit my situation quite perfectly.
