I believe this song has something to do with a couple breaking up, the red tied to their throats being the red string of fate or whatever. It also seems like a song that explains a broken couple healing along the months after being away from each other, him realizing she's not coming back only all too late. "And I turned 'round and there you go.". Then later the boyfriend has a that either kills or murders him, she being the last glisten in his eyes as he sees her with him in the hospital.
