My Chemical Romance – Early Sunsets Over Monroeville Lyrics 12 years ago
At the end it says "But does anyone notice there's a corpse in this bed?" I think it means a guy who went insane and thinks he killed his girlfriend while she was sleeping. When he says "Up and down escalators" it means how much his moods change, how quickly, and no matter how much the girl hates it, she sticks with him. Until he kills her, or at least he thinks he does. That's why it says "pennies and colder fountains", because she keeps wishing and wishing that he'll be okay. But in reality she kills herself, that's why he says "But would anything matter if you're already dead? And now should I be shocked by the last thing you said?" Maybe the last thing she said was a suicide note.
What most of you are saying is about zombies and vampires and I think that might be it, but My Chemical Romance almost always has an additional metaphor to it.

Panic! at the Disco – Girls/Girls/Boys Lyrics 12 years ago
I also think they're singing it from another point of view.
I can't really tell if it's from several point of view's throughout the song but I think from the girl's point of view (third person, of course) she can't decide because she wants to be of one sexuality--either lesbian or straight.
It did seem to come out wrong at first to me too, but I looked into it again before judgement.
