Love this song. "It took time to realize and I never saw it coming / Forgive my lying eyes / Gonna give you all or nothing". I took this to mean that she cheated on him when she was younger and perhaps didn't think she was serious about him. She realises the extent of what she's lost afterwards and wants to give him all of her but he doesn't want her back hence she wishes she could change his mind. |

I think this is my favourite song of hers. Love the lyrics "You own the place where all my thoughts go hiding / Right under your clothes, is where I find them". It's partly about sex but the connection between them is implied on a deeper level. In "'Cause of you I forgot the smart ways to lie" it's obvious that she trusts him enough to let her guard down and she is extremely proud of who he is, calling him her territory. It's very clearly a love song, she seems overwhelmed with the way she feels for him. |

I think I can make a fairly accurate comment on the song as I can relate to the lyrics. The girl here teases guys, she doesn't particularly care about them but she does it to feel good. Because she's in control, a rejection of a guy wouldn't matter because it would be on her terms and by never letting guys in, she won't be hurt. So all the other guys are kept at a distance. But then she meets a guy that she does actually like and feels vulnerable. Where she wasn't bothered about making an effort with how she looks before, she wants to look good for this guy. The feeling of wanting someone so much excites her yet scares her at the same time. All the mind games she would usually play don't work on him and end up backfiring on her, leaving her feeling worse. Where she would usually put up a front with guys, she can't with him. She has nothing to fall back on and doesn't know how to act as she can't behave how she normally would with the other guys. The conflicting feelings of falling in love with someone when you have trust issues is unlike no other. I think this is really about when you meet someone who makes you want to be a better version of yourself. She wants to be that person for him. |

There's something so romantic yet haunting about this song. "She lit a fire but now she's in my every thought". From this, I got that she grew on him to a point where although he may not initially have been attracted to her, now he can't think about anyone else. She felt the sparks between them and was waiting for him to make the first move but he didn't realise at the time "perhaps my chance was then, I'll never know". He won't stop at anything to find her because he believes that she was right all along. |
