Being recently cheated on this song means a lot to me. To me he is saying she drives all men mad even without trying, makes them do things they normally wouldn't do. and he feels this and knows this and is afraid of something happening. comes to be true he finds out that she did cheat. in a smile or frown being the silhouette its all fake. feels nothing but pain and confusion. Then finds himself in the decision to stay with her or leave her. but in both ways he see's a dead end. He cant live without her. but is SO incredibly hurt by the fact that she slept with someone else he cant even look at her. THEN, the real kicker. is that he is stands corrected with everything he decides because she loves on him, making him feel the love he wants even though he's bleeding from the soul. hard enough to know what he really wants. he starts changing everything around him. isolating himself from friends and wanting nothing to do with anything but her. even effecting his work. and when he says he brushes it off. means he tries... but no matter what the scar will always be there. trying to live with it and stay with her walking on wires. making sure he doesnt do something to upset her to make her do it again. and second guessing everything she does. sending a text message for exc... (the train crash) she makes him senseless and useless because even his better judgement is blinded by his love. and then this part... "but, please, go on, it feels so good. i need this pain, its understood." i think its guilt... he feels that its his fault. (and in my case i do blame myself) he sees she still does love him. the pro's out way the con's. and he thinks he should live with the pain cause he feels he caused it. "i was here. its been more then once and its carved into my mind. you were out of reach. still somehow scars my memory. but im still here. though im always behind i need to know will i do right this time." i think this part really is just him dwelling on what happened. he's thought of it more then once. just carving itself more and more into his mind. picking at the scab. at the moment it may make it feel better. but really it just makes you more sick. he wasnt actually there when it happened. but just knowing that it happened scars his thoughts. he continues to live in his thoughts and by doing so he is falling behind in the relationship not concentrating on her. just what she did. and just worrying he's gonna do what he did to cause her to do it. all in all this song is very powerful for so little words.. it can mean so much. thank you Plan Three. for such a great song. oh and by the way. she and i are doing much better. sadly enough actually better then before it happened. it brought us closer. |
