He first few lines of this song are probably saying, "Hey, we've only gone on a few dates, we haven't seen each other's good sides." It's too early in the relationship to break away because he has so much more to offer. Not entirely sure what the you've payed your dues, you're free... part means but, " Of what? Are you afraid?" probably means, " What are you afraid of? I give you so much respect." "Taking on responsibility knowing it will weigh you down" The girl probably used the line, "It's not you it's me" She's taking on the responsibility of the failure of the relationship knowing it will make her look bad. "Freedom is a possibility only if you're able to say no" Look, don't give me that crap. Just say no, I don't want to be in a relationship. The truth is much better than, "it's not you, it's me." You'll be free from this if you do. Just my thoughts on it! :D |
