@[Scroungler:42444] totally agree, it is straight forward. I have gone through so many phases and eras of my connection to Yes's lyrics, music, and "intention". Aside from hearing Roundabout and All Good People on the radio, around the same time discovering Rush., Yes's bratty little brother, sneaking in their room and stealing their weed, yet I digress. Instead of giving a 3000 word dissertation on my psychic connection to Yes and how they wrote Big Generator about me, I'll say Madrigal reminds me a lot of Alan Watts. My friend covered in greens set in stone, sounds to me like a statue, I picture Angkor Watt, which I always thought were next level outer world inspired higher level beings. Maybe Jon is communicating with these beings, getting stories of the Celestial Travelers.,who Have Always Been Inside of us reminding me of Alan Watts, the idea that all knowledge all beings of this earth and roundabout (heh) exist in this moment, here, hear, and now and always, inspires me to explore parallel universes within this moment. The aforementioned statue in Angkor Watt is actually the moss covered stone in my hand beckoning to their siblings ocross the ocean. The internet within.

Great interpretations of the song. Spending a great deal of my life in recovery from or diving back into the life of abusing substances, my interpretation was, like a lot of others, young kids first love living on the beach, his girl leaving for the summer etc. Then the line of "Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac comes in opening up a whole new can a worms in the scary neighborhood of my head. Really dug your facts about driving the "deadhead across the country" Song Dreams. When he sees the Deadhead sticker later on in life, I imagine him having years of abstinence from doing drugs, specifically L.S.D. which fans of the Grateful Dead (deadheads) are legendary partakers thereof. I also have some time away from better living through chemistry. I was just another Freak in the Freak kingdom as Raul Duke said., so a Deadhead sticker on a cadillac sound like a big PARTY! Seeing this would make me sweat a little, remembering the Summer of my life, and the woman I loved and did drugs with. I go by her house to visit her, no one is home. She's a casualty of all of those drugs we took, she's a vegetable, no ones home. |
