XTC – Dear God Lyrics 12 years ago
Heff1964 's comment is accurate and appropriate. I find it funny that so many "Christians" (and I know people who are commenting here are) pounce on songs like this where the writer (AP) is simply expressing the feelings of someone who does not believe as they do. I don't know which AP is, but this song rings so true for those of us who aren't and our personal and internal battle that it took to get to this place. Most atheists do not see the need to comment on songs that express the "glory" of the christian "gods".

XTC – Dying Lyrics 12 years ago
One of my favorite XTC songs. For many Gay Men, who might have seen many of their friends die, this may hit particularly close to home.

VNV Nation – Rubicon Lyrics 12 years ago
I think I read Czar5000 comments long ago and I cannot listen to any song on this album without seeing his interpretation in the lyrics (which are brilliant !). This does not detract from my enjoyment of the album, but rather makes me love it even more. One of my favorite albums of all time.

The Decemberists – The Bagman's Gambit Lyrics 12 years ago
Maybe I shouldn't be surprised that some comments about this song still postulate that the romance is between a man and a women. But, "In a bathroom stall off the national mall, How we kissed so sweetly ... " should dispel any ambiguity about the romance. Also, it was gay men in government service who historically would have been targets of foreign (read USSR) agents since exposure (at that time in history) was career (and in some cases) life ending.

Wire – Torch It! Lyrics 12 years ago
No interpretation necessary here. This is an insightful rant against organised religion. Hint : In the house not home (House of God = Church ... not anyone's home ...)
