I think this song is truly about the 7/7 bombings in London 2005. Kele talks about the aftermath of the bombs, the fear and dread people felt throughout the UK and the way the media completely hyped it all up to scare people even more. "I'm sitting on the rooftop of my house, with a shotgun and a six pack of beer" is Kele saying that the terror that shacked London got some people to take drastic measures in ensuring security and protection because the media kept on pumping fear into everyone. "Enemy's among us" could be about the bombers/ British Asian community in the UK, who were victim to much discrimination after the bombing since the perpetrators mainly British/Asian. Kele is telling us that many people blamed the Asian community calling them the enemy, and that their beliefs and culture was anti-Britain, helped by the media's exploitation. "As bombs explode on the 30 bus", obviously a reference to the explsion on the double-decker bus. "Taking our women, taking our jobs" is a reference to the immigrants in the UK who were taking British jobs and marrying women, much to right ring Brits dismay. "I was an ordinary man with ordinary desires I watched TV and it formed me I was an ordinary man with ordinary desires There must be accountability" This is about one of the bombers, Mohammed Sadique Khan. What's interesting about this is that Mohammed, before the bombing, was actually a pretty normal bloke who went to business school, had a family and paid taxes. Kele is saying that it's not because of his race or culture, he was actually a good man at one point but then he changed because of various things which I wont go into. "There must be accountability", Kele is almost talking like he is Mohammed pleading for a proper judgement and that it wasn't entirely his fault, that he is good person and wants to change and redeem himself. At the end "fear will keep us all in place" is directly a reference to the media who kept pumping fear into the British public to keep them at bay and fearful of the bombing, Kele almost sings it in a plain and 'it's always like this, no surprise' manner, as if he isn't surprised the media are doing this to people. Anyway, that's my feelings on the song. |

Beautiful song, always will be a mystery in meaning. Through the years of being an Oasis fan, Wonderwall hits me likes a train, the beautiful side in Liam's voice really comes out and the general sadness that comes from the song can relate to everyone whose gone through love. I will give you my final thought on what the song means in my opinion. A wonderwall is someone or something that you keep on thinking about from time to time , sometimes it will come and you'll think about it for weeks on end, then sometimes it will simply go and it could be years until it pops up again. I think this song is about Noels past/present and future feeling of love, anger and passion. I used to think the song was about John Lennon since he was Noel's idol. But I think the song is a whole collage of things Noel loves and thinks about from time to time, whether it could be Lennon, his lovers, his mother, Liam or even Man City, we may never really know. There's a sense of 'goodbye, farewell see you soon' in the song, as if it's not really a goodbye song but an statement after years of keeping something secret or hidden for a reason which makes it very beautiful and mysterious, a truly amazing song. But that's interpretation on it, I love the song and always will, Noel will always go down as one of the greatest songwriters who ever lived. |

| The Stone Roses – I Wanna Be Adored Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I think that this song is generally about Ian in his own true words, his urge for being famous/popular or adored by many people because of his own ego. He needs to feel that admiration and love from lots of people and he is not afraid of his own ego too. It's this longing for respect, love and god-like presence that he wants people to have when he is around. There is also some biblical references possibly god/devil like motif, "I don't have to sell my soul, he's already in me", I have always thought of that to be a very biblical or religious line in the song, I could be wrong but it could indicate that Ian knows his own ego and persona is notorious he compares it to the devil who is taking him over to make him look like a prick when really he just wants to have respect and love from people. Although the lyrics aren't colourful the song is great, that guitar work, brilliant and the echo from the drums sums it up. It conclusion. This is really Ian coming out of his shell, telling you what he feel straightforward but still there's this mystery in his voice and the music which almost indicates there's more to it than it seems. | |
| Arctic Monkeys – Pretty Visitors Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| This song has always struck me as being very dark, mysterious and disturbing, but in a good way of course. It's very psychedelic and almost carnival sounding especially the organ. It then goes into an almost metal-Sabbath sounding bridge. But it also has a quality of Beatles in it, very Lennon Sgt pepper period. At the time the guys were listening to all that kind of music very mysterious sounding and dark. This song in my opinion is about the fans and critics, the the pretty visitors (fans) came and waved their arms (got involved in the concert). It's about people they know i reckon, record executives, producers, Josh Homme maybe or maybe Alex is writing about something deeper, I'm not sure. | |

| Arctic Monkeys – A Certain Romance Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| After listening and loving this song for the last 7 years, I think this song 'a certain romance' is about Turner's school days in Stocksbridge. He is revealing his personal thoughts on social groups and in general, kids, people he knows in his grade or outside his school who live in his neighborhood. Classic Reeboks, or knackered converse or tracky bottoms tucked in socks, this is the different types of social groups. 'Over there theirs friends of mine and I've known them for a very long long time' this could be about his bandmates Matt and Jamie. It's a beautiful song and it reveals so much about the writers thoughts on leaving adolescences. It's about love, liking a girl but knowing she's outta your league and theirs not much you can do about it, it could possible be about a certain relationship that happened between Alex and some girl, or he could be viewing another relationship and the traits of that, and writing it down on paper in his own interpretation. | |
