You are well read and intelligent, but, the occult is not inferred in Lateralus. It is a song of spiritual awakening, awareness, vulnerability and self exploration. It is a third person song from the "Awakening" of the third eye and truly being able to see beauty in all of its forms; whether geometrically, in nature or even through one's philosophical mind. You have an awesome open minded thought process, but Maynard is never to be taken at "Face Value" He will set you on the path, give you the tools and send you on your way but, the instructions are intentionally left out because you are on your own journey. Just like "Die Eier Von Satan" 100 people will have 100 answers but, no one will use basic logic and look to translation, they will give their perception.
