@louichanon "Learn how to pretend" is the line that throws me off too. The whole song seems to be about accepting reality and being okay with things in spite of it, which is why that line makes no sense to me. |

@GoRockTheirWorld It is a sad song, but not a hopeless song. It is resigned but still comforting to me. It is a song about change and being able to accept it and let things happen as they will. |

I love your interpretation and I am so sorry for your loss. This song has meant different things to me with different situations. In one night it represented my relationship and how the outside stressors might be changing the dynamics of our love, but if we let past expectations go we can move on to something that might be better.
Then later that night I heard it again and it told the story of a loved one's suicide, and helped me find closure in her decision. |
