I think that this song is about a girl in love with a Californian boy, who is living the "laid back" lifestyle- he does not have a steady girlfriend, he does drugs, he can't keep a long term job. Although she cannot "fix" him and make him settle, she still loves him, even though she's just one of many girls he sleeps with. As for the chorus, I think that he metaphorically lives in "shades of cool"- that is, he is emotionally cold as he does not become attached to anyone or anything. The "strange weather" Lana feels refers to how cold he is to her, even in the warm Californian sunshine. Lana can't be part of his world as his life is constantly changing, which, is what makes him attractive to her. She can't even try to break his heart, as he does not love her or another girl. |

I think this is about an actress, with Alice in Wonderland being used as a metaphor for the girl being lost in fame, excess and isolation. She is lost in the mad world of celebrity, as Alice was lost in Wonderland. "It's no wonder our stage clothes have dreams to be famous The trees in the courtyard are painted in blood, "- The girl is only acting a role even in real life, and even the environment she lives in is twisted. "But then our star rushes in, feeling like a child and looking like a woman She's been forecast with an attempt to kill herself But the ending didn't test well"- The poor girl is an adult woman but is so vulnerable she feels like a lost girl. She is suicidal but knows the bad reputation she may get from seeking help or killing herself. "Eat me, drink me This is only a game"- Nothing in her life is real, her image is consumed by the public like food. |

This song is about an unequal relationship. A broken woman is sleeping with him for many reasons other than love, some are positive ("I fuck you because you are beautiful"-she does enjoy their sex on some level) but most are negative, indicating that she is using him (for his money, fame, she'll leave when she finds someone better) and because of her own insecurity (she is emotionally dead and just wants to feel something. On the other hand, he wants more, genuinely loves her, but hates her as well because she used him. This describes how many relationships with famous people end up, they end up paranoid of other people and wonder whether they are with them for money and fame. So the title is a pun on paranoid and film noir (the atmospheric genre of film that often dealt with dark relationships and femme fatales.) |

This song seems to be about a young girl who is in love with a much older man ("my old man"- often used to refer to fathers) who abuses her, and as others have said it heavily references "Lolita". Some lines also may indicate he is pimping her out, making her stay by exploiting her feelings for him (pimps often try to claim they love the girls to stop them running away) : "Gimme them gold coins"- she has to give him money she earns from prostitution." " 'Cause he knows I'm wasted, Facing time again at Riker's Island"- he feeds her drug/drink habit and threatens with turning her into the police "tell me you own me"- she couldn't leave even if she wanted to "Cigar lying with your gold chain on Cigar of hanging from your lips"- stereotypically this is what pimps/gangsters look like. |

| This song is about a guy who was mutual feelings with a young woman, who is in college and isn't even 21. He wasn't predatory, in fact he "wasn't trying to lead her on" at all, and Jay Z verse reference Beyonce, who he first met when she was 19. | |
