every time I hear this song I think of my sister who lives with a different family. I love her very very much, but we don't get to see each other often. it reminds me of her because she has had a tuff time, and her family is no help, she feels out of place among them. they laugh at her and her dreams, our dreams. she's really close to breaking again. a lot of times, i'm on the phone, trying to "dry up her tears" with only my voice, cuz I can't be there to comfort her. I always want her to know that no matter how hard it gets, it'll get better. that any dream or wish she has will come true, all she has to do is follow. and that it's not all bad. and to never give up. <3 |

this song is me and my sister. I was a born and raised Cali, then moved to WA. she's only ever known the rain. both of us never get listened to, and we both suffer from some level of depression, mine being the more severe kind. I love her very much, and that is why I am alive today. but this is why its us: "Grew up in a small town And when the rain would fall down I'd just stare out my window Dreamin' of what could be And if I'd end up happy I would pray" we both live in small towns, separate. she lives with a different family. Her's is a religious one, and while I am not religious, I do pray that she'll be happy someday, and she does the same for me. we have a lot of dreams, and often times are laughed at for them. it gets really hard sometimes.
