pretty basic interpretation here "zero and zero is nothing but zero and cancer in people, conspired together" maybe implying that cancer is controlled by people? "running and running and going, forever collected and sampled, starving for zero" maybe saying cancer is in the genetics now and it can't be removed as easily as it got there? collected and sampled maybe implying genetic sciences testing? starving for zero meaning he wants to die? he wants everything to end maybe "inhabit the riddle, fill in the hovel" has words switched around, i think in meaning it should be "fill in the riddle, inhabit the hovel", saying figure it out, realize where you are, be discontented by the fact that you can't get anywhere in life unless you have a certain privilege to get there. "minus the inside, minus the circle" is basically telling you to look outside the circle, the space that remains encasing the circle "wherein and herein, between us and near us it's zero, it's zero, it's nothing but zero" the space between us, within us and surrounding us is nothing, but zero not sure whether it's grave or grain, i hear both, neither really make complete sense, the whole song is quite mysterious |

I believe... This song is more about government and the music industry in general than it is about any genre of music in particular. It's about selling your soul to the beast then getting tossed away for the next big thing that sells. (commercial) Deceiving the weak [minded?] (I pull weak from Leprosy because it corrodes muscle strength) Oppression and fascism, freedom revoked Vanity (flaunting their diamonds and riches to cover up their faults) this is all i got for now, not claiming any of this is true, just my interpretation. |

| I think the chorus is referring to them trying to change perspectives but failing due to the weak minded sticking diligently to their humble illusions of freedom and an honest trustworthy government. He's trying to convince the sheep to think differently and says "go ahead and disagree" knowing they will, so he "gives up again" because it's futile effort to try and change their mind. Just my perspective. | |
