@[not_blonde:6204] I think everyone of your points are off about 180 degrees. I a person really loves somebody then they can accept anything for them including short goodbyes. I know a few grown men, business men that had the usual baseball card collection as a kid. They grew out of it into high school and that was that. One day they find themselves married or whatever and while visiting the folks they are asked about a box full of their crap. Go through it, see what can be thrown away or go to the goodwill. They come across a shoe box full of baseball cards worth several thousand dollars. It peaks their interests. Now they have a safety deposit box with cards valued at thousands apiece. Do I need to explain anymore?

Yeah I agree with BruceMcD. The self inflicted cutting thing is so far fetched. To me that makes everything else you speculate about very suspect. I'm just being honest. The reason I don't give a detailed opinion is because for me there are two or three obvious scenarios. I look at these comments and people read way too much into the lyrics. The simplest possibility tends to be the best explanation, yet time and time again these artist that don't come clean and explain the meaning have a reason for not. It's because there isn't one or they were so high at the time they have no clue. Half of Kurt Cobain's songs, and I quote, are "complete nonsense." And he's considered one of the greatest poets of all time. Noel Gallager got hammered and cut to pieces by critics over CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA. "What do you mean?'Slowly walking down the hall faster than a cannon ball...' that makes no sense." His reply, "Yeah but it rhymes and it went multi platinum you fucking wankor!"

Really? Seriously that's what you're informing us all about? That part? Let me ask you this: Can you possibly think of any other meaning or context anywhere, that a cross or crucifix was not a metaphor or reference towards the burdens that Christ bore? When he says "Lips like sugar, sugar kisses" I wonder if he is referring to a girl he kissed? Hmmm? Care to let us all know?

Come on man, Brian Wilson was the first guy to record music on multiple(8) tracks. It's not like splicing film. If the track wasn't right they didn't take the reels and start cutting and splicing they just rerecorded. Don't take this personally but- What a knucklehead.

You're reading way too much into it. Weiland says it's got two meanings. He got the idea from an article in the paper about Chelsea King and it's also a metaphor for a painful breakup. Now go back and look at the words. It's a lot simpler and makes much more sense. I mean you're going on about the crime rate goes down in bad weather? What orifice did you pull that out of? He never says anything about bad weather anyways. He just says so much depends on it. Do you have any idea how fast a body decomposes (and stinks) in the humid south when its 100 degrees? Then he flips back to his girlfriend- does it rain in your bedroom? He's wondering if she's already hooking up with someone else. The "dogs" are A) search dogs and B) the hounds swarming around his chick now that she's not with him. Will she smell alone? Do the hounds know that she's single?
