i feel this song is about falling in love, hence the title. throughout the lyrics, there are mentions of 'voices' that are 'calling', and to not stop, or give up, which leads me to believe that the person the narrator has fallen for is someone people don't approve of, and she encourages herself throughout the song to just follow her heart and let herself go (standing at the edge, falling metaphors), and how it isn't as bad as she may have thought it would have been in the end ("step into the fire feeling higher than the truth/i can feel the heat but i'm not burning"), where the "truth" implies what people have told her about the person she fell for. it's a song about following your heart, no matter where it takes you |
