Great how you interprete the song. I couldn't make sense of the dames but when you turn it around into being about him and how he had relationsips after but they didn't mean a thing. I would only say though, the last part is more metaphorical than literal. As he walks away he is determined to never walk back to feeling sad for her. That is what I believe he means by I cut the breaks and even though at that moment the future does not seem promesing he has hope for his fate (future). Finall, I am split on whether he wants her to be happy, ergo she receives the love she gives to a new guy or she gets what she gave to him: missery. We would have to ask Shultz to be sure. Its beautiful how you described the song. Clear as crystal |
