Angels and Airwaves – Chasing Shadows Lyrics 3 years ago
I think this is about Tom\'s chase for aliens. He tries to make it into a love song with an alternative meaning to make it more relatable to the average person, but ultimately about his alien related pursuits. \n\n"So here I am\nI\'m falling to my knees\nI\'m digging out the shadows of a ghost\nWhen you come around\nSo here I am\nI\'m waiting for the tease\nI\'m sleeping in the gallows (?) that I chose\nWhen you come around"\n\nAka- he\'s chasing for proof of aliens and it\'s breaking him because its very challenging and taboo. He is waiting for when he eventually has the proof he needs (or enough proof) and can properly release it. However he receives a lot of flack for putting his music and art on the back burner to pursue aliens.\n\nAlso Chasing Shadows is the title of his first "Sekret Machines" series book; suggesting there is a different meaning behind the lyrics

Wax Fang – Majestic Lyrics 4 years ago
I think this song is about somebody who is so used to being alone that when they meet someone single that they are attracted to, they build insignificant things into signs and then believe they have a chance at a romantic relationship with them even though nothing is really there.

"a sight for sore eyes
to the blind would be awful majestic
it would be the most beautiful thing
that they ever had seen
it would cause such surprise
it would make all of their minds electric
how could anyone tell them
that some things are not what they seem?"
-- essentially someone they're attracted to being kind, or asking them how they are, how their weekend was, etc. can be interpreted as romantic interest when someone is extremely alone (in general or romantically); while the other party is most likely just being polite. They are so alone any sort of positive interaction can come as a surprise and be cherished (said plainly in "a sight for sore eyes to the blind would be awful majestic") [with awful being used purposely here for its dual meaning]. The way he's signing here almost sounds like a circus. Almost inviting people to come see the show.

"in such disbelief
i thought i was asleep when i met you
my heart liquefied and i sighed
“oh this must be a dream”"
-- reinforces the loneliness and shock and someone they are interested in showing an interest in them (though artificial).

"if i forget to set the alarm
and sleep on through the dawn
don’t remind me
i’d rather be dreaming of someone
than living alone"
-- retreating back into this delusion because they are finally happy [as much as they can be] someone is interested in them. They would rather "sleep" in this false reality rather than acknowledge the truth of just how lonely they are.

"if you’re searching the lines for a point
well, you’ve probably missed it
there was never anything there
in the first place"
- here, they quite literately say 'there was never anything there in the first place'. It was all fake. There was no point to them putting so much of themselves into the potential of the romantic involvement. There was never anything there... anything real there.

The outro of the song (no lyrics) has a lullaby feel and acoustic guitar. Seems like the protagonist is just drifting back into sleep (referencing the theme of the second verse).

I think this is describing what his life is like as a musician. He's been doing this most of his life and this is him reflecting on it.

I think he's trying to say that your actions matter, no matter what kind of race, religion ethnicity, or etc you are. Your actions always affect people whether you intend them to or not. You are important.

(+44) – Chapter 13 Lyrics 11 years ago
I think this some is directed towards Tom from Blink 182. Mark feels betrayed that Tom left the band. Mark said the Chapter 13 is from Dante's Inferno. This chapter is about suicide. He feels blink "committed suicide" because its members were the death of it. Blink didn't have a clean break up. There were a lot of bad feelings and I think Mark is sharing some of them here.

Blink-182 – Not Now Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm pretty sure this is Tom realizing blink is falling apart. He sees all the signs and is hoping that it isn't going to happen but everyone is at their breaking point. Most people interpret this song as a man dying looking back wishing he could say goodbye to his love. This is partly true, but it's really blink that's dying and Tom is looking back. At about 12 seconds it says "blink, we miss you" if you listen closely, making this theory even more convincing
