I think the 40.000 number is an stadistic reference, as also is a clear reference to the Romeo & Juliet's part of the melody, and implicate people whom follow their lovers (wifes/husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends, etc) when they death for any suddenly reason, and their souls fells so sad alone for the so high grief experience. It isn't about a suicide pact, but it seems very clear that it's about a man who's already dead and try to "appeal" or "call" his girlfriend to came with him to the other side, where's no reason to fear the reaper. |
