I disagree with the first part. When he says he's afraid of what comes after, I don't think he's at all referring to a fear of facing God with his sins, it's more of a confusion and doubt about an afterlife or how you get there, a literal fear of what comes after in terms of what happens to your being after death. And as for the part about the use of "Jesus Christ", I think it changes. Sometimes it's the use of it like saying "Oh my God" (like in the very beginning "Jesus Christ, that's a pretty face"), and sometimes he's saying it as, in my opinion, not a direct communication to Jesus like in a prayer or something, just as a last resort someone to talk to kind of. Like he isn't saying with belief of a god, but like a desperation almost, like he's alone and has no one to turn to. And not like a Christian Jesus either, just as a being in his head to talk to. So yes, in a way, he is just talking to himself. |
