| This song is about lead singer Oli's addiction to Ketamine *Animal tranquilizers for those who don't know what K is* He was addicted for years and ended up going to rehab for a month to kick his habit. The lyrics are pretty much self explanatory after knowing this fact. This is the reason the album was much more melodic and a lot less scream-y than their previous albums. Guy's i don't know what the fuck you are talking about! First....this song is about lead singer Alex's addiction to alcohol! Not about a fucking girl....read the lyrics its very clear! "Suck me down, it's time to rock and roll Let's hit the bar, let's lose control One false move; you took me home One false move; you're all alone" Basically means drink up, its time to party - let go out and have a good time...but when you make the move from going out with friends drinking at bars to drinking alone in your house you become an alcoholic "But it looks so good and it feels so nice I've paid my price I'll cut you out just to hear you scream: "Get away from, get away from me". And I can feel my heart beat racing As I realize what I must do Get away from, get away from, get away from you." It feels great to drink but you eventually pay the price when you abuse (any substance, not just alcohol) he came to the realization he had to stop drinking "Should've turned around like hell Last time I got a taste of you I should've turned and ran like hell And I say we're through" If it isn't obvious by now you may have been dropped on your head as a child! Ps. This album was fucking amazing! i couldn't have asked for a better follow up to the curse! |

I think this song is about a child who's parents fight all the time and get divorced and it fucks him up. He tries to go on with his life but he never feels the same. He lost his childhood and now that he's had to grow up fast and become a man he realizes he is broken and wants to go back to the only time in his life where he felt alive, when his parents were together when he was a child. Between the lyrics and the video there are a lot of things that point to this idea In the video you see a child in the beginning happy, playing with his toy plane. We then see him at a party as a child seemingly searching for his both his parents, he sees several different couples enjoying their time together but not his parents. When pictures are being taken he is alone in front of all the adults but then he is seen with a man with his hand on his shoulder in one photo, his father? Then he is an adult and is following the career path that his father has seemed to have set up for him. Now he is swimming in paper work and isn't happy, this does not bring him joy. He is in old man, still surrounded by paperwork he seems completely broken, he goes out back and finds his plane from his childhood and it reminds him of a happier time when his parents were together and all was right with the world. Also just to touch on the lyrics a little bit... "He bends and he breaks. If he gives they will take away his passion, his pain, his grace." - He is being asked to choose between his parents, which one does he want to live with...if he gives in an chooses then it will become very real in his mind. "Took the fire inside one too many times. He's burning over and out as he flails Up against the raging tides. No more sides, everything you ever wanted to see, see it in his eyes." - He took the pain of his parents fighting inside and tried not to show that it effected him, but its eating him alive. No more sides, he doesn't want to have anything to do with either of them, no words are needed it shows on his face. "I'll stay here as long as you let me, Decisions been made obvious so I will return Where I started I'll stay there Unfinished I'll wither away" He wants his parents to stay together but it becomes obvious they are going to split, "return where i started" i think refers to going to stay with his mother, but if he stays with his mother he is afraid he will never learn to be a man and be broken.
