Sully actually said that this song was written during a godsmack tour that lasted more than 4 years in which they all were away from their families and friends. They were arguing a lot and were almost at the point of breaking up the band.They decided not to let their egos decide, and do the right thing. |

Either that , or Sully was writing about a past time in his life. Maybe something , like that tour,made him remember that past time.I'm thinking he wrote about "a guy" with a pessimist view of life,whose 'ideal' was clearly untouchable and "a guy" who just could not feel right among almost anyone,even though 'friends' and most people liked being among him.And "a guy" who wanted to love but couldn't because of his understanding that he could never be as good as he wants,an understanding of human limitation.When a time like this comes for a guy like that,he becomes sick of life and what it has to offer."Yeah, I'm gonna do it again!" i guess that means that times like this often come and he manifests.And of course , he just wanted to have a normal view of life and enjoy the little things,instead of knowing at some level, caring and feeling about those limitations that makes him sick of life. |
