Lana Del Rey – Burning Desire Lyrics 12 years ago
Lana said this in an GQ magazine interview:
""Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill - that will help you. I'm listening to audio books now. I've actually been listening to newscasts on this new movement in biology of creating human life through synthetic chemical compounds. I couldn't believe that was really happening."

Lana Del Rey – The Man I Love Lyrics 12 years ago
I cannot believe this song is so underrated, It's one of my favorites.
Ok I'll admit is not that well put together she just sings about things that gotta do with her, I find some things that remind me of "Body Electric" and in this song i guess she just wants to fly but I don't know is she's talking about escaping her "trailer park" life or just reality (drugs). I guess just reality.

Lana Del Rey – Without You Lyrics 12 years ago
The main point is something like "Bel-Air" & maybe this could be what she thought before of "Young and beautiful"

She's gotten famous but still wants some ex-lover or current lover's approval. Maybe it could be about the same guy he sang about in "Dark paradise" (We were two kids just trying to get out, from the dark side of the american dream) which is "K" and I have no idea who that guy was but from what I've read about him he is dead and lana sings "Can you picture this, what a life we could've lived?"

These are my two cents, probably wrong.

Lana Del Rey – You Can Be the Boss Lyrics 12 years ago
Probably a song about one of those old men that appear on her "Ride" video.
A guy that started Lana drinking whiskey? I'm really just wondering I have no idea who is this about, the only thing I know is it was one of her demos but I don't quite remember if it was a demo of when she had her real name "Lizzy Grant"

Lana Del Rey – Young and Beautiful Lyrics 12 years ago
I think this songs goes hand in hand with "Gods & Monsters" and "Bel-Air".
In "Gods & Monsters" she sings about being an angels in the garden of evil. Lana has always had that perspective of herself, like she's been so good that she'll actually get to heaven because she feels herself as a baby that is doing everything that she needs to reach her goals and make ends meet.

She also talks about have seen it all and done it all in "Bel-Air" she sings about how she only wants him and she wont cheat him no more stopping her lolita-esque lifestyle she used to have like in "Off to the races" I guess these songs are from a more mature point of view. (the paradise ed ones)

Now that she's gotten famous, I guess she feels this way. And as for her man, like always, he is the bad "Million dollar man" we all have heard about but have never seen (btw ew barrie) & I know this was used for "The Great Gatsby" but I don't see much relevance with it, maybe they wanted it because of the nice background music idk. "Cola" would've been a better choice but I guess it was too controversial to even think about putting it in their movie soundtrack haha.

Lana Del Rey – Cola (Pussy) Lyrics 12 years ago
She only says "my p*ssy tastes like pepsi cola" because she once met a german guy (i dont know if he was her lover or not) and he used to tell her that all we americans girls walk around like our pussies tasted like pepsi cola. like we were better than anybody else and hell yeah we are. so dont take it so sexual, its not that way, and lana has always had a lolita-esque image so dont get all "oh lana was effed by his dad" and bla bla bla, she is supposed to like older men, but from what i know shes dating that guy barrie from a total loser scotish band. I: i thought lana like old wealthy man but its just an marketing image for all of us upper middle class girls with mental disorders.

No. this is more deep that just a relationship. Way more deep. First of all this song was made just to launch a new car, i don't know if you have seen the video but i think the car company payed her to make a song for the ad.

Second of all, one of lana's favorite books is "think and grow rich" by napoleon hill. I haven't read all of it but the book talks about how if you think of something a lot it becomes your reality and that theory is called "burning desire" they actually describe it like that "burning desire" so she took it from that book and made the song because it is an ambitious song i guess.

sorry if i didnt describe the book well but it had something to do with god so i was not really interested while reading it but i do remember those words "burning desire"

Lana Del Rey – Body Electric Lyrics 12 years ago
from my point of view this is all about melancholy and of course her patriotism. walt whitman was an all-american writer who made a poem called "body electric" i have read it a few times but i guess its too deep for me and i cant find what it has to do with this song. Lana likes poetry a lot. In the intro of her song "ride" she says about how she wanted to make art with her words and stop being a groupie. No wonder she idolized a poem writer who was all-american. so this is a sad song about feeling lost and thinking marilyn and elvis are the ones who made up what she is now because they inspired her. the poem maybe is like her own personal anthem or alma mater.

oh, and remember when in "cola" she sings:
"i pledge allegiance to my dad for teaching me everything he knows"

i dont know man, its just my opinion.

Lana Del Rey – Back to the Basics Lyrics 12 years ago
I know she has other songs called "For K" but who is K? she has many songs referring to axl rose and i really think she was his groupie. I actually watched an interview of her as lizzy grant in that old trailer park she lived in with her bf and she looked really high i guess that was the time she was intoxicating herself. but in "yayo" she talks about the trailer park again, oh my goodness lana is gonna drive me nuts!

Lana Del Rey – Axl Rose Husband Lyrics 12 years ago
so the song "blue jeans" was originally inspired because of this man? I'm really having trouble figuring her out, in one of her first interviews she said she didnt wanted to make any more music after her "born to die" album because all of her songs were about the same man over and over, so was it axl rose all this time? so she really was just a groupie. oh my goodness.. and now she's dating some guy from a scotish band nobody knows? i mean dont take me wrong I love lana soooo much and her music, but she always sings about old men with money. hmph, i feel confused. too sad shes just another marketing weapon.

I guess it is about an ex-lover she's leaving behind in some small town she grew up in so she can get famous. The boy is not ambitious enough for her.

Lorde – The Love Club Lyrics 12 years ago
You know when you feel so alone in the middle of an existential crisis? I think this song could be about any kind of vice, an abusive relationship or even of joining a drug dealing violent gang. It could really be about anything, like when you trade everything for just a little bit of fun. Joining this "club" was fun when you first started doing it (maybe drugs, maybe when you started going out with somebody, maybe you started gambling and you were winning) thats why Lorde says :Be part of the love club, everything will glow for you" sounds inviting right?

but then everything turns around and it starts getting out of control (youve become an addict, the relationship turned out abusive and leeched you dry, you gambled all your money) and now youre hitting rock bottom even though you were even in "the throne" and have to become humble to get your family back and all your life like before.

It puts so much emphasis in "you'll get punched for the love club, for the love club" that at the end what the stupid metaphorical "love club" wasn't even what YOU wanted in the first place.
