I think this songs deconstructs and mocks organised religions. With the Wizard of Oz reference, saying what Lions and Wizards will he meet in the afterlife?
Basically the singer of the song dies, he is confused for a short moment when he realises he is dead because he thinks he has ended up in hell. Yet at the end of the song, he is shown the answer to life and what lies beyond. During this moment of realisation, he transcends to a higher plain and meets God.
If you are a good person, you won't end up in hell. |

I feel like this song is saying that no matter what position you are in now, whether it's good or bad, in the end, you will acheive complete peace and happiness. So just aim to be the best person you can be and everything will be fine. |

I feel like the basic message of this song is that The End of The World would bring out the best and worst in the human race. Some people would get depressed, sad and violent. Whilst others would use it to chase dreams and ambitions they never did because life was holding them back. |
