Pantera – Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks Lyrics 12 years ago
"My soul for a goat" probably means selling his soul to the devil. Goats usually symbolize the devil in Christianity.

To Christians, doing drugs is similar to selling your soul to the devil. Yet he'll outlive the old, means that he will live more in a shorter time than people that have grown old.

I think the main message is that Christians will try and tell you that drugs are the devil and the only way is through Christ. He makes it clear that he may be more enlightened than Christians. Ultimately, he's happy that the drugs keep the Christians away.

Metallica – Fuel Lyrics 12 years ago
From all of the interpretations that I've read and knowing the song for a long time, the song is obviously about cars and adrenaline and any kind of metaphor or connection with adrenaline that you can think of.

Furthermore, the song does mention some things that make me think it was initially written to be about the feeling of driving a fast car, and more specifically, having the vehicle take hold of your life.

"warhorse, warhead" -> reference to the power associated with driving a fast car, and possibly also other people's opinion of someone driving in such a manner.

"Fuck 'em man, WHITE KNUCKLES TIGHT" -> In relation to the above, usually the person driving like crazy doesn't care about anything but driving at that moment. So f*ck 'em.

"Paint me dead" -> probably going to die doing this.

"One hundred plus through black and white" -> one hundred plus is about the speed of the car, but through black and white, i'm not sure. What comes to mind are the lines in the road. They do blur into a black and white as you go faster.

"Swallow future, spit out home" -> leave everything behind because the car has taken control of everything you care about.

Ultimately, I think somebody got in a car accident while racing and continued afterwards.

Master of Puppets was about addiction. I really don't think that this one is. Especially since Master of Puppets was dark and meaningful. This one celebrates whatever it is they're talking about. With that in mind, how the song is written instrumentally and vocally must reflect their opinion on the subject. Metallica has been pretty reliable with that so far.

Frankly, I can't listen to the song without thinking of the drag strip.
