But seriously, I think this song has something to do with falling into a relationship that you weren't expecting. Maybe then we realize that it isn't necessarily about what we want in a person, but a more primal feeling of love. I think they use being in the family of a ruler as a metaphor for this; that if we fall in love, it becomes a stressful position with a lot of work required, and if we don't put the work in, we still have a "ways to go." |

The lyrics to this song are the same as the beginning to Kanye West's "Lost in the World" from the CD that Justin Vernon worked on. Doesn't take away from the song, which is great, just thought it was interesting. |
