"I love you when you're singing that song and I got a lump in my throat because You're gonna sing the words wrong" He loves it when she sings a particular song (probably a love song) to him but has a lump in his throat because she isn't singing it with meaning. |

| I think it means not being able to keep up with her competition in the music industry. Exactly the same with dancing, very relatable. You have to sit there and watch the kids who got more than you because your dance teacher prefers them and they are a better dancers because they got pushed and you didn't. Marina probably felt the same when she was doing just as well or even better, but was still not having the viral fame of which she wanted and deserved. | |

| I think the second verse has something to do with having to choose a person or anything. This song can fit any purpose or interpretation. Crackers=person. What I initially thought was that she was decided between which person she wanted to be with, but she chose the unstable relationship? Dunno where that came from. All I can say is a very unhappy, depressed, unstable relationship. | |
