Bruce Springsteen – Prove It All Night Lyrics 10 years ago
Well, that's probably one of the most elaborate pleas for sex since Virginia Come Out Tonight by Billy Joel!

Bruce Springsteen – Meeting Across the River Lyrics 10 years ago
I really like the way Bruce protrays the Mafia here. In the movies, it's all about guys in Italian suits bribing their way out of jail time, but down on the streets, it's two bit criminals like Bruce's character fearfully preparing for their once-in-a-lifetime glimpse of a made guy. They've screwed up before, and they've got one more chance or they'll have a hit put out on them. There's no drug deals here. This is about a couple of street guys getting ready to meet the guys that really ran Jersey and New York.

Stray Cats – Stray Cat Strut Lyrics 10 years ago
Anarchy? Prostitution? Where the hell do you get the idea that it has anything to do with either of those? It's just an amazingly cool song about remaining cool despite poor circumstances. Sheez.

Bruce Springsteen – Murder Incorporated Lyrics 10 years ago
Guys, this song is in no way about gun control legislation or police states or anything like that.
Murder Incorporated was the name for a contract killing organization started in the 1930's by Albert Anastasia. It was basically the enforcement arm for the New York Mafia.
Bruce grew up in Jersey in the 60's and 70's. Back then and there, the Mafia was more in charge than the government. This song is about what it is like to live under the mob's heel, to run afoul of them, to run, get bumped off, and then have the police not prosecute the case to hard because they're under the Mafia's pay. Bruce never knew the high-level, glamorous side of crime you see in gangster movies, but he was a master at portraying the misery of living in fear of it.
