The song was wrote in response to hearing the Nirvana song 'I hate myself and want to die'. Noel found the song very annoying, here was a man who had everything (Kurt Cobain) talking about how he wanted to die. Whilst, here was a guy (Noel) who had dick all yet still looked forward to waking up in the morning. The first line about the garden, is basically saying quite sharing all of your shit with us. Kids don't need to hear that rubbish about wanting to die. Don't hold the rest of us back with your wallowing and... oh I don't know, do sonething about it! I love both Oasis and Nirvana (I admit The Gallagher brothers are asses) but this song really opened my eyes a but regarding my own situation. |

You're right, Courtney's Pee-girl. I'd always gotten the impression that the song was about child abuse. With milk symbolizing what a parent gives to a child. This particular milk is 'mean', 'sick', 'sour', and 'has a dick' (allusion to sexual abuse?). I also have a theory that each chorus is the abused girl (Courtney, I guess) at a different stage of life. First a child who 'can only cower', then a teenager (where sexual abuse starts?) and then her as she reaches adulthood, when the milk goes unconsumed and thus turns to 'cream'. |
