| man, this song used to hit home. I had a girlfriend that would do this over and over to me, for 8 years. Shed say she wanted to do this or do that and we'd break up and then out of the blue I would call her and she would come over and things would start going great and I would swear I was going to make work this time...just like this song says. Then out of the blue she would start the "I dont know what I want". But as Kadison shows us how excited hes getting to see Jessie again, I know how he felt because I would get the same way. I would be on cloud 9. As for the song, its a pretty song, but the song is actually a sad song because we know Jessie is going to lead him on again | |

I suppose everyone sees things different in songs, but this one seems so clear cut to me. IMO, it could be about nothing else BUT addiction. I guess if youve never been down that road it may not jump out at you like it does me, but every single verse is dead on how an addict feels. "Heaven bend to take my hand" is saying please help me with this. "We all begin with good intent When love was raw and young We believe that we can change ourselves The past can be undone But we carry on our back the burdens time always reveals In the lonely light of morning In the wound that would not heal It's the bitter taste of losing everything I've held so dear" This verse is what reallyt makes it stick out to me. losing everything you loved because of the addiction. And then the chorus, "I've messed up Better I should know Don't come 'round here and Tell me I told you so" That is saying i know what i am doing is wrong and then people always telling you that you better be careful and then addiction grabs you and they all say "I told you this would happen". THis song is very hard to listen to for addict |
