| Now, Now – Thread Lyrics | 11 years ago |

A once-great relationship gone painfully stale. It hurts to end it because of what it once was. "Find a thread to pull And we can watch it unravel" The relationship has become a series of tenuous threads. Not solid. Pull any one and it'll come apart. Walking on eggshells. Afraid to move anywhere in case this happens. "Cause we've been living with A ghost of summer from 2 years ago" Two years ago the relationship was great and it is impossible to accept that that's gone now. "A hint of light in the dark Only enough to keep from giving up If I could go back to the start To break the pattern forming between us" It's not all bad. And it seems like it's worth it to hold on to that and stay together. If only they could go back and do things differently so they didn't fall into certain rituals and behaviours that ended up dooming the relationship. "A needle dragging thread To form the chapters only we could know But they will overlap And cast a shadow on what little is left." In a difficult relationship it is impossible to accurately relay to people outside of that relationship what it's really like. "The chapters only we could know." But these chapters and events, many of them probably unhappy ones, overlap. It gets complicated. What little good that remains of the relationship is darkened by the bad that constantly hangs overhead. That's my interpretation anyway. It mirrors my own experience and means a lot to me. The One AM Radio remix is especially brilliant in my opinion. |

| Beg makes sense. The dog is trying to beg, but his tendons are torn, so he can't. | |
