I think the singer is gay and loves another guy. That guy though loves a girl. As his good friend, he watched this guy try to get closer with the girl for 2 years now. He always thought that the guy will realise that he can be with him. But now he sees that the guy truly loves the girl and tries to mock this relationship. Telling him she can never truly appreciate him. Your love is standing next to me sounds to me like he simply says "I love you". He kinda understands he will never win this "battle", because the other guy's love is true. |
