I always get this strange feeling of peace that washes over me every time I listen to this song. Crazy, huh? I think it demonstrates how young adults, (such as myself) and how we are growing up in a world where violence has been dramatically increasing. In the lyrics "To save yourself, from what you could never guess, Am I safe today? When I step outside, in the wars we wage" I believe that it talking about how much bloodshed, loss and the terror that people in places of poverty & war. For example Israel. And Egypt. I believe this song was made to help all those who are struggling through hard times. To give them hope. And for those who weren't going through hard times, to show them that they ARE happening. And they can help. I am always filled with hope when I hear this song. But at the same time, I'm saddened by the fact that abuse, (whether it be verbal, physical, or sexual) neglect, and abandonment of children all around the world happens. After I finish listening to this song, I am Only filled with two questions: 1) Why does this happen? Why does poverty, abuse, neglect, & abandonment to innocent children happen? 2) And what can I do to help make sure this stops? And to make sure our future generations are loved & cherished? How can I make a difference in their lives? |
